Perlita Passive House

Nick Tan provided the landscaping for the first completed Passive House in the Los Angeles area. The Perlita House is a net positive building, producing more energy than it consumes annually.

The project was also designed to be water conscious, with only low water consumption fixtures, drought tolerant landscaping, and a rain garden. Black water and grey water pipes were also separated to easily use the grey water for the yard.

Native Plants, Native Water

Nick Tan designed and installed this beautiful native garden for LA Times writer Emily Green. The result was “a massive increase in shade and wildlife value, elimination of storm water run-off and steep decrease in maintenance fees and water use.”
